Gel Coat

The front of my trailer dulls out really easy. It doesn't seem like oxydation. It seems like the top coat in the glass has been peeled away. I put rubbing compund on it and then wax it. It comes our really shiny. Within about two weeks it is dull and faded out again. Ideas? Solutions?

Switch to a different wax and park facing the other direction.

Well Alrighty then.
on a serious note, It sounds like it's only one side that's doing it and maybe the fiberglass is hosed somehow.
I'd hookup and take it by a place that does boat repairs and see what they say.
The boat guys are gonna have a much better handle on fiberglass care and repair than any RV dealship.

On the front you don't really have a gelcoat per se. Gelcoat is the finish over Fiberglass that makes it smooth and often is up to 1/8" thick. Fiberglass looks like a piece of cloth with a wide weave. Then the resin is used to harden it and finally gelcoat is added over that. With the way the front is constructed you just don't have a gelcoat since it must bend and hence would crack the gelcoat. I use Meguiars Premium Boatwax or something like that on my trailer and the stickers haven't faded at all. My trailer is also in the sun the entire day 360 days/year and is now 3 1/2 years old---- Stuff works-- try it! FYI I wouldn't expect that Protect All is the way to do your trailer if that is what you do. That should be used in between a good wax but not really in place of it.
