You're slaying me. lmfao. Nice truck! an 011, that will have the increased towing capacity and HP#s. Glad to see you get a new ride, I know you were stressing on it.

You know I like it. Come to thing of it the 20" wheels besides being impractical for towing would really look "Retro Ghetto" .  I do tend towards the classical side though. They say they haven't changed the body much but if the can fit 20" wheels maybe they did.

I think the wheel in itself looks okay, tire looks to small for the wheel............ dealer was getting them on it for me and buying back, as i was going to put aftermarket 18" wheels on it, and different tires.......... But Gm had to change the bolt pattern and now there are no aftermarket wheels available...... 3 months yes.... not so new take offs by then....

Still not sure what i want to do in that regard.....i need to talk options with dealer and go from there

I love it, Clark!  Don't stress...just love driving it.  You made a great decision on the log bed I think, and it's a great truck!  Can't wait until you get to tow with it for a report. Grin

GM changed the bolt pattern on the 8 lug axles???  Huh?
I'd have to see it to believe it.

it is true for sure. came with the brake changes.

Clarke,

Start ordering your Stanadyne. 30K psi injectors are going to have to be taken care of and I bet they run over $500 a piece. Yes you got that right, $4K for injectors if you ever had to replace them all but that probably wouldn't happen.

I run the Stanadyne lube formula every tank and the performance formula every 3rd tank or so. Try US diesel which is an internet sales place down near Philly.  I think you have bio around your house so use that once a month also. They sell it on Rte 30 near Spring Gulch but I see it more in PA then in NJ. In fact I have never seen it in NJ. When I'm down near Spring Gulch or near Hickory Run I always fill up with it. Also buy a spare fuel filter and keep it in the truck and a WIF (Water in Fuel sensor) isn't a bad idea either. The WIF is a plastic piece at the bottom of the fuel filter which can leak. You will also need an oil filter wrench for the fuel filter and channel locks for the WIF sensor. Keep those in the truck. If a diesel doesn't start 95% of the time it is fuel. Diesel Place has guys who sell a wrench for the WIF but Channel locks will do just fine in a pinch.

Did you get the winter cover? Don't leave the dealership w/o one of those. Put it on around Thanksgiving and leave it on until St Patt's day or so. I know neither the LBZ or LMM, (from Jim) will get hot as long as you don't tow and the weather is under 55 or so. Never tow anything with it on. Guess you LML guys will have to figure it out with the temperatures  but you will need it, that I assure you. Saves you fuel mileage with the crap winter fuel and keeps the heat warm.

Nice truck!  You'll have to let us all know how that exhaust brake works.

Clarke,

I wasn't sure what wheels they are but guess they are the 20's. I would keep them, they look good and they are OEM's so expect little problem with them.

You might want to consider the following points. Do you want your truck to look long or short? For instance the black wheels on the 'Burb made it look shorter. For me the black on your truck might not work so well.  Anyhow the larger wheels are shortening up the look of your truck. Running boards will get it looking longer again and those boards that go in front of the back wheels will get it longer looking once again. Bigger tires then you have now will shorten it. I wouldn't go higher then 285's they will smoke your towing mileage pretty good. Another point to consider but you guys don't get much snow other then this year. Wider tires suck in the snow and that truck will suck in the snow anyways. My hunting partner's 'Burb is way better in the snow then my truck. We don't drive on snow but plowed streets-- ice or wet snow so you want to push that snow out of the way.

I may leave it as it is for now....... i had bed lined, truxedo deuce cover, dvd head rests put in, and low profile Yakima tracks for my Yakima bars for kayaks on the roof. next is another set of bars for above the cover for bikes and under cover tool box/auxiliary tank.

Tows like a beast on steroids, I love it!! dont even feel it, i set cruise at 69 and DW said it feels like we are crawling......

Exhaust brake is awesome!!

Love it
